Luie Rie: Modernist Potter

Emmanuel Cooper (1938-2012) was a frequent visitor to the Crafts Study Centre in the course of his detailed scholarly research into the archives of both Bernard Leach and Lucie Rie in preparation for his two notable studies. The Trustees of the Crafts Study Centre join many other individuals and organisations across the worlds of craft, culture and politics to record their sense of loss as well as deep affection for Emmanuel and to pay tribute to his significant biography of Lucie Rie, recently published by Yale University Press.
