New exhibition counts the environmental cost of furniture
1 September 2006 - A new exhibition called Whole Life Cost opens Tuesday 3 October at the Crafts Study Centre in Farnham. Featuring new work by trend setting furniture-maker Guy Martin, this timely exhibition focuses on issues of sustainability, ethical production and a sense of locality in the context of furniture-making, interior design and architecture. Whole Life Cost considers not only the one-off cost of manufacturing and construction, but also the future cost to ourselves and our planet, calculating social and cultural value as well as economic. Work in the exhibition will be for sale. Guy Martin will be giving a talk Wednesday 1 November 5:30 to 7pm, tickets £5.
