Bernard Leach: graphic artist

Until 18 December 2010

Drawing was Bernard Leach's first passion.  However, his position in the Modern Crafts Movement as a print-maker and graphic artist whether on paper or expressed through the medium of clay is often overshadowed by his reputation as a potter.  This exhibition brings together archives, etchings and drawings and his early ceramics to present a rounded portrait of an eminent artist discovering a life-long interest in and aptitude for ceramics, set in the context of his first love of drawing.
